Combine everything from brown sugar down to black pepper for marinade.
Marinate chicken for 0.5 - 4 hours.
Rinse rice thoroughly.
Add water, broth, and salt to pot; stir well.
Remove chicken from marinade, draining off and discarding excess.
Place the chicken, then carrots, then mushrooms onto rice.
Turn on the rice cooker and allow it to cook until finished.
